Drugs seized in Essex Police Raid during ‘Street Weeks’ initiative

A Colchester woman has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs, in the New Town area of Colchester.

Yesterday (Tuesday 13th February), Police Officers acting upon intelligence gathered through Colchester’s Street Weeks initiative worked alongside partners from Colne Housing to execute a warrant at property in Artillery Street, Colchester.

Drug paraphernalia, cannabis and cash were seized in the raid.  Following the search, PCSOs teamed up with Community Safety Partnership partners, Active Citizens, to offer reassurance to residents and explain what had been happening in the area.

PC Hayley Langmead, who exercised the warrant said: “This is a great example of how initiatives such as Street Weeks help us to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in our community.

“Street Weeks is about listening to local people and taking action. Through our strong relationship with members of the Community Safety Partnership, such as Colne Housing, we are able to tackle these issues and resolve matters of concern to the community.”
