Essex Police tackle anti-social behaviour in Colchester ‘Street Week’ initiative

Essex Police spend time in the New Town area of Colchester in lead up to second ‘Street Weeks’ week of action.

Colchester’s second ‘Street Weeks’ initiative will be launched this half-term as part of the Safety Partnership’s Community Day which will be taking place at Old Heath Road recreation ground in Colchester on Monday, February 12th from 10am to 2pm.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “By working together we can identify and resolve issues which residents feel are a cause for concern in their community.”

Action can be taken by Essex Police, where required, to tackle criminal activity and anti-social behaviour in the area, as well as working to help Colchester’s most vulnerable people.

Colchester’s Community Safety Partnership is made up of local authorities, community groups and organisations from across the district.

Essex County Fire & Rescue Service, Colchester Borough Council, Zone Warden Officers and local Councillors are all involved, along with Colchester Borough Homes, Crimestoppers, the East-of-England Co-op, Active Citizens and Neighbourhood Watch groups.
