Commuters stranded due to signalling failure

A number of Greater Anglia trains to Liverpool Street have terminated at Colchester this morning (Friday, 2 February).

Commuters in Colchester, Marks Tey, Kelvedon, Witham, Chelmsford and Shenfield faced a tricky route to work after signalling problems meant they couldn’t complete their journey by train.

Six services from 6am to 8.36am were affected, with the disruption expected to last until 10am.  Commuters are advised to expect up to two hours of delays and to check the situation before setting out.

Greater Anglia offer a compensation scheme ‘Delay Repay’ which offers compensation to passengers who have been delayed more than 30 minutes.  Details can be found at  Greater Anglia online.
