Applications are being invited for funding currently available as part of the second round of the Colchester Borough Council’s Enterprise Skills and Employment Grant for 2017/18.
Businesses with less than 10 employees and not-for-profit organisations based in the Borough can apply for a share of the £38,000 funding..
This is the first year that small businesses have been able to apply for grant funding for projects that will help them to develop and grow their business.
Previous beneficiaries of the grant include Colbea, Signpost Colchester and Space Studios. Among the benefits for Colchester residents from these grants was support for start-up businesses, training and employment opportunities for young people not in education employment and training, digital training opportunities.
Cllr Tim Young (Lab), Portfolio Holder for Business and Culture said: “We are delighted to open applications for this second round of funding to give local people the chance to maximise their skills and business opportunities.
“The first round of applications proved popular, demonstrating that small-to-medium sized businesses are a driving force in Colchester’s economy.
Applications for the grant can be submitted from Thursday 8th February until the closing date on Wednesday 28th February.
