Police found a significant number of weapons following a raid on a property in Speedwell Road, Colchester today (Monday 29th January).
Officers attended the property in partnership with Colchester Borough Council after executing a warrant on the address.
Included in the haul were two crossbows, an air rifle, two swords, three knives and a revolver. Police also found a number of electrical devices including phones and computers which they believe are linked to crime.
Enquiries are continuing, with no arrests made as yet.
Chief Inspector Shaun Kane said: “This was a fantastic find by our officers in partnership with Colchester Borough Council.
“A number of weapons have been removed off Colchester’s streets and are out of the hands of criminals.
“They have been seized ahead of forensic analysis and destruction.”
