Local secondary school to feature on Channel 4’s Friday Night Feast

The Stanway School is set to feature on the upcoming television programme, to be shown on Friday 26th January.

Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast, which stars chef Jamie Oliver and farmer Jimmy Doherty, is shown on Fridays, Channel 4 at 8:00pm.

During the summer term, Stanway School teacher, Mrs Newman was selected to work with Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty (of Jimmy’s Farm).

Television crews came into the school to film students in their Food Technology lessons, as they learnt about food nutrition and how to manage food waste.

Cameras also followed Mrs Newman to Jimmy’s Farm where she learnt how to build a home-made dehydrator.

Mr Jonathan Bland, Co-Headteacher at The Stanway School said: “It is an extremely exciting opportunity to see our school on national television, and we are very grateful for the extra time Mrs Newman gave to this interesting initiative.”
