Two Colchester PCSOs and a member of the public helped an elderly woman to hospital after she had fallen in Colchester town centre.
Colchester based PCSOs Lee Compton and Wayne March were patrolling Colchester’s town centre on Saturday, December 16th when they spotted an elderly woman at the side of the road wrapped up in a blanket alongside another woman.
Lee and Wayne approached the pair, establishing the elderly woman had fallen over and injured her arm.
The other woman was a member of the public who had attended to the woman’s aid, offering her a blanket to keep her warm until help arrived.
Helping the woman into the police car, Lee and Wayne took her to hospital while the member of the public followed with the elderly woman’s bags.
The two officers and the member of the public arrived at hospital and helped the woman into a wheelchair before taking her to A&E.
The elderly woman’s family have thanked the trio for going out of their way to help her.
PCSO Lee Compton said: “We would just like to say thank you to the kind-hearted member of public who helped this woman and waited with her until her family attended the hospital. It is so nice to see that people care.”
