Impressive Swindon win moves U’s into 5th place

Colchester came from behind to win 3-2 away at Swindon.

Despite making a lively start, United slipped behind after 36 mins when Woolery picked up a loose ball in the box to lead.

But the U’s always looked dangerous and with the last kick of the first half, they equalised through Kent.

A Reid free kick assisted Mandron to head home on 63′, only for Gordon to level on 76′.

Colchester reacted brilliantly and Sammy Szmodics continued his fine form to score the winner 12 minutes from time.

The win lifts Colchester into 5th overnight, though they’ve played a game more than most around them. Colchester are the form team of League 2 right now with impressive wins over a number of promotion rivals recently.

Their next game is home to 19th placed Port Vale on Saturday 23rd December.
