Multi-million pound development at Stane Park looks set to be delayed even further as newly built buildings are COMPLETELY dismantled.
The Stane Park development in Stanway was revealed last month by Jumbo News to have been built in the wrong location.
In a statement by developer Churchmanor Estates, they confirmed construction of the new £12.5m Stane Park development had been halted. It is alleged building company Rose Builders made a human error when setting out the site for construction whilst using GPS for positioning.
Unconfirmed reports suggest £3m will be spent dismantling the structures and upgrading the groundwork to build the units in their correct positions.
New restaurants including KFC, Nando’s, Bella Italia, Coast to Coast and Starbucks Coffee are planned for the area creating over 250 new jobs and £350,000 road upgrades.
Stane Park was given the go-ahead after a successful appeal, following Colchester Borough Council’s refusal for the development costing the borough over £90,000.
The new McMullens chicken and grill pub, built by local firm Cadman, is due to open on Wednesday November 29th and was not affected in the mix up.
