Rapid Response unit responded to a medical emergency last night at around 8:00pm in Colchester High Street.
A member of the public was taken ill at the scene who was treated by the rapid response medical team.
It has been reported on social media a man had suffered a cardiac arrest, but this has not been confirmed.
East of England Ambulance Service have said: “We were called to reports a patient had collapsed in High Street, Colchester, yesterday (9th December) at 8.04pm.”
“A rapid response vehicle and two ambulances attended the scene. The patient was taken to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment.”
