Mum “Braves the Shave” for Macmillan

A Colchester mum is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support by shaving off all her hair as part of the “Brave the Shave” campaign supported by Macmillan.

Amanda Charlesworth, whose son attends Fiveways Primary school is raising awareness of the palliative care and support Macmillan offered when she sadly lost her mother.

Commenting on her campaign to raise £1000 for the registered charity Amanda said, “A few years ago my sisters and I lost our mother, who was the bravest and strongest woman I have ever known. If it had not been for Macmillan our mum would not of been able to stay in her beautiful home as long as she could.”

“The palliative care and support Macmillan offered to all of us was unconditional and I now want to give something back.”

At the time of writing, Amanda has now shaved her hair and has raised over £790 – well on her way to her target of £1000.
