Spooky events for the kids this half-term


Colchester Castle is set to bring a host of fund activities to town – from the super spooky to the frighteningly fascinating.

Youngsters are encouraged to visit the castle this half-term, to try their hand at becoming master detective ‘Sherlock Bones’ and uncover secrets of the how bones are able to help unlock clues to the past with fascinating osteoarchaeology sessions.

Across the road, the Natural History Museum will be preparing the tickle those funny bones with some wierd and wonderful story-telling sessions, packed full of rib-tickling tales.


Sessions at the Hollytrees Museum will be letting kids to show off their inspiration with craft events to create your very own spooky clay skull.

Something for the older ones (and adults) – they have that covered too. For those brave enough, head to Colchester Castle after-hours and join a dark tour to uncover the grim deeds of Colchester’s grizzly past!
