COLCHESTER: Leisure World are to offer free activities during an afternoon of fun for kids.
The event to take place on Saturday 14th July from 12:00pm until 4:00pm will see a fun-packed timetable of activities including short tennis, badminton and table tennis.
In partnership with Essex Children’s University Trust, a coach will also be on hand to help with tips and advice on how to improve your games.
Debbie Bird, Essex Children’s University Manager, said: “Being able to encourage children and their families to try new learning experiences, is at the heart of what we do. Being able to try out new activities in an informal, fun way, without charge will engage more families, and give them a much greater insight into what they might have a talent or passion for.”
The event in July is open to all, membership of Essex Children’s University is not required.
Debbie added: “The event will give families an opportunity to learn about the work we do, we welcome new members throughout the year.”
There will be the opportunity for children to try out some of Leisure World Colchester’s junior group fitness classes including too, including Les Mills ‘Born to Move’ (1-2pm for 8-12yrs and 2-3pm for 5-7 years), Mini Street Dance (1-2pm for 3-7yrs) and Street Dance (2-3pm for 8+yrs).
The Essex Children’s University provides children aged 7-14 years (and 5-6 year olds with their families) with exciting and innovative learning activities and experiences outside of the normal school day.
