APPEAL: Thieves steal sentimental medals from Dedham home

Essex Police are appealing for information following a burglary from a home in Dedham Colchester, Essex.

Jewellery, brooches and watches were amongst items stolen from the property in Boxhouse Lane, Dedham sometime between Friday 6th April and Monday 9th April.

A Women’s Voluntary Service medal engraved with the name ‘Winifred Lockyer’, a Second World War medal and three 1930s medals engraved with the name ‘HWM Armstrong for being Eastern, Midlands and Southern counties wrestling champion’ were also stolen during the theft.

Investigating officer PC Robert McWilliams said: “These items hold much sentimental value for the owner and the medals are particularly distinctive. I am keen to speak to anyone who has been offered these items for sale or knows of their whereabouts.”
