Lollypop man to return to Winstree Road

Good news for those that rely on the crossing patrol on Winstree Road outside Fiveways Primary School. From Tuesday 31st October, Cliff the crossing patrol will be returning to help keep our kids safe.

Initially only the afternoon shift will be covered so care should be taken when crossing the busy road in the morning, especially now the mornings are that little bit darker as the clocks have shifted and winter draws in.

Schools along Winstree Road have an advantage over other schools in the town, with over 200 free car parking spaces kindly offered for use by the Co-op on Peartree Road to aid with the school run. There is a dedicated pedestrian walk-way at the back of the Co-op car park. Walk times are 4 minutes to Fiveways Primary school and 8 minutes to Stanway Secondary school.

Essex County Council are looking for anyone that may be able to help by volunteering to cover the crossing patrol. Please get in touch with Michelle Eaton the School Crossing Patrol Co-ordinator at Essex County Council by emailing or by calling 03330 133426 if you are interested.
