Stane Park delayed as units built in wrong location

Have you driven past Sainsbury’s in Stanway lately and wondered why it seems work has stopped on the new Stane Park development? Wondering how long before we get to indulge in some cheeky chicken? We went to find out more.

Construction of the new £12.5m Stane Park development in Stanway (opposite Sainsbury’s) appears to have been temporarily halted whilst developers Churchmanor Estates decide what their options are, after it is alleged builders have made a human error when setting out the site for construction.

A spokesperson for Churchmanor Estates said, “A human error may have occurred whilst using GPS data during the initial stages of construction and may have resulted in buildings on the Stane Park development being constructed in the wrong location.”

Rose Builders have declined to comment at this time.

Unconfirmed reports have quoted over £1.5m has been invested in the groundwork alone for the new Stane Park development which will see an array of new restaurants including KFC, Nando’s plus a coffee shop arrive in Stanway, creating over 250 new jobs and road upgrades. No confirmed opening dates have been announced at this time.

The new McMullens Chicken and Grill pub is not affected and is due to open in November. The company is now advertising for staff.
